This striking glass bowl is from the Kosta Boda “Artist Collection” and is signed by renowned glass artist Bertil Vallien. The inside of the bowl is a lovely smooth clear blue glass, while the outside presents an interesting sand-like texture with varying flecks of color. The organic contour of the rim complements the precisely shaped body of the bowl and smooth blue glass base. Along with the artist signature, the bowl is inscribed on the bottom with the number “59606.”
About the Artist:
Bertil Vallien is the most internationally celebrated glass artist and designer in Sweden. In a career spanning more than 40 years, he has been a driving force behind a revitalized glass industry in Sweden. His work is part to the permanent collections of some of the world’s most important museums, including the Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Corning Museum of Glass, Glasmuseet Ebeltoft in Denmark, Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Museum Stockholm, and The State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
