About the Artist:
Located in Santa Monica, California, Correia Art Glass is a family-owned glass studio founded in 1973 by internationally acclaimed artist Steven Correia. Upon opening his studio, Steven’s work quickly earned acclaim and popularity within the art world, owing in part to the help of his sister Patricia, who brought word of his beautiful work to museums and dealers. The company continues to thrive today under the direction and artistic vision of Steven’s daughter Algerine Correia along with her brother Jeffrey Correia, an artist both highly skilled in traditional methods and in tune with the art glass avant-garde.
Combining time-tested glassblowing techniques and craftsmanship with the advantages offered by modern technology, Correia artists produce work of exceptional quality and unique aesthetic appeal. Examples of Correia glass can be found in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, the Corning Museum and the Chrysler Museum of Art. Both contemporary pieces and vintage works signed by Steven himself are highly prized by collectors.
